As we wrap up another incredible year of MinPop, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to the remarkable judges who played a pivotal role in the success of MinPop 2024. Their expertise, dedication, and passion for music were instrumental in guiding and shaping this year’s competition, and we are truly honored to have had them on our panel.
Jungee Marcelo, a legendary hitmaker and multi-talented musician, brought his vast experience as a songwriter, composer, lyricist, jingle writer, arranger, and music producer to MinPop 2024. With iconic hits like “Hataw Na” and “Nasa’yo Na Ang Lahat” under his belt, Jungee’s keen ear for talent and his deep understanding of music were invaluable in selecting this year’s winners. His influence on the OPM industry is immeasurable, and we are grateful for the wisdom and insight he shared with us throughout the competition.
Marlon Barnuevo, a mentor to many and a respected figure in the Filipino music scene, lent his expertise as a songwriter, arranger, and producer to this year’s festival. Known for his mentorship in PhilPop and FILSCAP, and as a finalist in prestigious competitions like Himig Handog and PhilPop, Marlon’s contributions went beyond just judging—he helped nurture and inspire the next generation of Mindanaoan artists. We thank him for his dedication to fostering musical talent and for being an integral part of MinPop 2024.
Arthur Nery, the soulful voice that has captured the hearts of many, brought his unique perspective as a Mindanao-born artist who has risen to mainstream success. His ability to connect with audiences through his music, much like his performance during the Grand Finals, where he brought the house down, was a testament to his deep understanding of what it takes to resonate with listeners. Arthur’s input in the judging process was both thoughtful and impactful, and we are deeply appreciative of his involvement in MinPop 2024.
The success of MinPop 2024 would not have been possible without the dedication and expertise of our judges. Their commitment to excellence and their passion for Mindanaoan music helped us create an event that not only celebrated our rich musical heritage but also pushed the boundaries of what’s possible for our local artists.
